The gallery wall created by Lindsay Lewis, is a mix of vintage treasures and prints from Artfully Walls.
Lindsay Lewis, the content creator behind the Instagram account Grandmillennial Mama, unsurprisingly describes her home decor style as grandmillennial or “granny chic.” She explains, “Blending vintage treasures with modern pieces creates an eclectic vibe. Eclectic interiors are also highly personal, yet carefully edited and cohesive.” Lindsay isn’t afraid of color and has integrated many beautiful shades throughout her home. Her husband’s office, for example, is painted in an Americana blue—Lindsay was inspired by one of her fave designers, Tony Baratta, when working on that space. In the dining room, Lindsay opted to hang a wall of colorful china, much of which came from her mother and grandmother, but some of which is also thrifted.
Most recently, Lewis decided to take a green wall in her home and give it a transformation with pieces from Artfully Walls as well as some of her vintage treasures, which she has spent time collecting over the past year. “I wanted to bring some swank into the space by adding in these modern art pieces,” she comments.
Staying true to her home’s eclectic style, Lindsay doesn’t believe in worrying about specific metrics when hanging a gallery wall. “Don't go crazy spacing your artwork evenly, unless it's a gallery wall set with an even number of pieces and all frames are identical in size,” she advises. In her eyes, the best gallery walls are those that are collected looking—she notes, “The ideal gallery wall includes different sizes, textures, and colors of framed art. Mix modern frames with ornate frames and prints with paintings.”
That said, achieving an effortlessly curated gallery wall does require a bit of planning in advance. “Lay everything out on the floor or table to get a feel for placement, and then nail away,” instructs Lindsay, who is also a proponent of mixing horizontal and vertical pieces to mix things up.
